I just scrapbooked for 10 hours straight & had WAY too much caffeine. So now I'm home and I can't sleep. So why not blog? I don't have anything interesting to say but I do have some cute pix of Kennedy. She now has her own PINK legos (thanks to our AWESOME neighbor, Pam, who loves and spoils my kids like they are her own grandchildren. She's so good to us.)
(**I'm posting this past midnight so their birthdays were *actually* yesterday- the 19th**)
Today, two of my very dear friends celebrate their birthdays. I have known both of these girls (women) for 13 years! I wanted to pull out some of my old photos from Master's and scan them, but …I wasn't that ambitious today. I hope you girls BOTH had amazing days! Happy, Happy Birthday Kate & Kelli!!!!!
Kate has such an amazing personality. She is SO laid back and such a great listener! She is young and funky and always knows what to wear and how to do her hair so cute… She has the most amazing relationship with her husband and I bet it is SO FUN for her kids to have her as their mommy. She is fantastic & I wish I could be more like her.
I couldn't find a picture of Kelli (sadly) so I'm posting a photo of our little girls. Who knew that 13 years later our little girls would have playdates? Not me. Kelli is SO passionate about being a wife and mommy. This girl has her priorities straight. When you're with her, she just makes you WANT to be a better wife and mommy. She always reminds me of what is most important and she is ALWAYS, ALWAYS pointing to Christ. She is a rare find!
I'm so blessed to have so many special friendships. It's hard to keep in touch with everyone, but these are 2 girls I don't ever want to lose track of!
On Halloween this year Canyon learned to whistle. He just did it- he surprised himself. He wasn't really trying- it just happened and he was SO HAPPY! Fast forward to today in the car.
Canyon says, "mom. when I'm a teenager and they have a class for whistling, I won't have to go there because I already know how to whistle."
🙂 I love that he thinks there is a class for whistling. and that he thinks you have to be a teenager to take it. I wish I could get into his brain for just a few minutes. It's probably really fun in there.
This is a little late, I know, but I didn't want to skip it because it's such a fun tradition. I've never been a huge fan of Halloween- my kids are a little on the "scaredycat" side (and I'm okay with that). Ever since Canyon was traumatized by a boy in a "Scream" mask, we just decided Halloween was not for us. So with that in mind, Heather Worsley & I decided that we should get our kids together for some fun activities (that involve getting candy, and eating candy and dressing up- all Halloweeny type things). So every year we share a meal together (Heather's Delicious Ham Chowder), Heather makes a craft with the kids, we have a treasure hunt for candy, we take pictures of the kids in their costumes and we just have FUN together. Our kids LOVE it & look forward to it every year. This year, Christine brought cookies and icing and candy for the kids to decorate their own cookies. She also brought an awesome story that she read to the kids & we ended our evening watching The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. It was so much fun- if you ever want to try something different for Halloween, I totally recommend this. We've been doing it for so long, I don't think my kids even know what "trick-or-treating is!
