A Day Away…

So… we took our fun little photo outing on Monday & can I just tell you what a BLESSING it was??  Now, I L.O.V.E. my children & I ADORE my husband (he isthe best, you know?), but getting away for a day is such a treat. And if, while you are away, you choose to live "in the moment" (that means actually talking to yourself and saying things like…"I'm not changing a stinky diaper right now, I'm riding the metro to Union Station"  or.. "I'm not washing the dishes for the 3rd time today, I'm taking a photo of my very best friend in her oh-so-funky & fresh orange coat that she secretly wants to give me..if only Danny hadn't bought it for her.."  or… "I'm not playing Polly Pockets right now, instead I'm … well, anything is better than playing Polly Pockets- those things are just too small!) Then, by the end of the day, you're TOTALLY satisfied with your day away and REALLY missing your husband and sweet children. At least, that's how I do it.  Grammar will come in a few years. I type like I talk (hence the random run-on-sentences & dashes & dots and parenthesis or however you spell that). So… we found some GREAT places. I'll let you see for yourselves. (I use the plural because I'm hopeful that more than one person reads my blog. :O )

Our last stop of the day… Dots – a tiny little cupcake shop with the cutest packaging in the world. And their cupcakes are delicious!!

Project 365

I've been feeling a little "under the weather" lately (and no, that doesn't mean I'm pregnant). One benefit of feeling lousy is the rest time you (well, I can't speak for you I guess) get.. I uploaded my Project 365 photos (there's a link on the right)- I even added captions.

One thing I decided to do with this project (as I journal throughout the week) is note the weather. It's been so strange to have 70- 80 degree days in January! Another thing I'll be listing are my "Top 7 most played on itunes." I'll probably only list my songs once a month, but I just checked iTunes to see what plays the most on my ipod. You wanna know what my #1 is?

Hero- by Inrique Iglesias.          Okay, that's just a joke (but I secretly do like that song :))
Here's my REAL list:

1. Some Devil-  Dave Matthews (this song is haunting- I LOVE it!!!)
2. I want to hold your hand- T.V. Carpio
3. Your Call- Seconhand Serenade
4. Just Like Heaven- the Cure (this song never gets old & ALWAYS makes me cheer up)
5. When your mind's made up- Glen Hansard
6. Violet Hill- Coldplay
7. Viva La Vida- Coldplay (I can't get tired of this song either)
8. Such Great Heights- Iron & Wine

Don't judge me by my music selections. I just don't want to forget what I was listening to in January 2009. 🙂
Jan 18th
Canyon learned to ride his bike!!!! I know it seems late, but we don't have anywhere to ride around here (we live on a BIG hill!) He was so Excited!

Can it really be true?

He is nine months old. Actually, he's almost 10 months old! I want to cry.. but it's not on the schedule today. I'll pencil some good crying time in on Monday. 🙂

9 months

I lifted this design from a VERY talented girl named Erica Hernandez. She is amazing. I'd love to know half of what she knows (design wise). I think I'll print it out & put it in his scrapbook (which is currently in May 2008).
