Making up for Lost Time.

James & I haven’t had a consistent date night in about 3 years. Sad, I know. But this week we made up for it! 2 dates- 1 week!  Yay for us.

First, we went to West Hollywood to a great little place called Taste– tiny place- great food- mostly great atmosphere. Then we hit Coffee Bean for a much needed caffeine jolt before our little performance at Largo.  Yep- Colin Hay again. James got tickets for me for my bday & invited Danny & Hallie to come with us. It was so fun. It was a late night, but SO MUCH FUN.
Thank you Jeff & Christine for watching our kiddos!!

Then, last night we were able to go out AGAIN! Thank you Jason & Mary!!  We had UCLA tickets, but we decided to skip the game. We had a yummy dinner at the Granville Cafe, then shopping, then Cheesecake & Coffee at the Cheesecake Factory(I’m a little upset that they decided to list the calories next to the Cheesecakes!), then more shopping. Another perfect night!

Cari - You kids these days, staying out till the wee hours. You’re making me tired.

Sara - Yay for date nights! They’re my favorite. Beautiful pictures, as always. So, do you use your own special-magical-powers to create the cool coloring, or do you run actions?? I like.

Mini Sessions.

minisessionsMy mini-sessions were developed mainly to allow clients to have a “stress-free” Christmas time. The idea is simple: have a professional photographer take your family photo, order your Christmas cards in October & don’t think about it again until it’s time to mail them out!  You’ll be the first one to mail your Christmas cards out this year!!!

If you’re interested, email me at emily@emilyjamesphoto.com or leave a comment on this post with your email address.

Incentive to tell  your friends:  If you refer 4 friends who book & pay for a session with me (mini or full) – you will receive 1 FREE mini-session!!!

Desiree - Good deal!
If you lived near me I would totally do it!

Look What We Grew…

Kennedy was SO excited that her little seed had finally grown into a pea pod!  You can see the JOY in her face as she looks at her little peas. Now we’re just waiting on the pumpkins and the carrots!

Cari - It looks like she loves them too much to eat them. Maybe you should frame them.

Sara - SO CUTE! I love the first one with her tongue out like she can’t wait to eat them and the last one is priceless. Fun!

Her First Day of School.

I homeschool, so a lot of the photo opportunities that most parents enjoy are not the same for me. I don’t have any “first bus ride” photos or “walking to school” photos… so I fake mine:)

I had Kennedy get dressed and ready as if she really were leaving for school, we went outside, took some photos & then went back inside and put our pj’s back on 🙂 Just kidding- I’m sure she left that outfit on- it’s one of our favorites!! Gotta love Target.  **Do you see the scar on her chin? It’s HUGE. It makes me really sad.**

Desiree - Still precious.
My son fell at school and had to get a staple in the back of his head. Now he has a scar back there. That saddens me too!

Heidi Garrett - The flipflops were a dead giveaway that she was not going to school. So cute though!
