Missing Grandma.

I just realized that my title, “Missing Grandma” may make it sound like we’ve lost grandma & we can’t find her 🙂  In reality, though, we just really really miss her.  It was so wonderful to have my mom here for 2 weeks to take care of us.  She really is amazing. She cooked, cleaned, sewed, shopped, wrapped, played, baked, and about 10 other things I’m forgetting to mention. My kids LOVE her & she just spoiled my kids with food and fun and love. I miss her most of all though. It’s hard to be so far away from family- especially during the holidays. I wanted to turn off the alarm clocks so we  would be late to the airport & she’d miss her flight 🙂  But… I decided that wouldn’t be fair to my dad or my sisters. I’d had her for 2 weeks so I’m sure they were missing her desperately.  Well, we got lots of great photos while she was here. Here’s just one of them.. I hope you all have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and enjoy your families.  And I hope you all remember the REAL reason we celebrate Christmas- Jesus.

Are you Ready??

Okay- I’ve been trying ALL WEEK to have a photo session with Chloe, but the time just slips away. Feeding the baby, taking care of the other 4, trying to rest, trying to eat, trying to keep up with laundry, trying to keep the house in order…by the time I’m ready to take pictures there’s no more light! But today James helped me & we were able to get some great shots of our sweet little girl 🙂  Are you ready?? Here they are- in no particular order.

I took a shot similar to this when Keagan was a baby. I wanted to re-create it with all 5. I think I like it 🙂

Kennedy.

As Kennedy was writing a “wish list” today (consisting of entirely DIFFERENT items than her original list), this is the conversation we had:

Kennedy’s new list:  a bag with a doggy in it, a barbie with a dolphin, a set of ponies, and a tinkerbell house. (she’s NEVER mentioned any of these)

I said, “Kennedy, I don’t even know what that means (speaking of the bag with the doggy in it)”
She said, “Well, you’re not getting it for me”
I said, “Oh, who is?”
She said, ” The mailman!”

So apparently the mailman is the new Santa 🙂

December 13, 2009 - 4:21 pm

Cari - Well, mailmen are super dependable and good at reading people’s minds. I heard that somewhere. That is super cute and a little random.

December 15, 2009 - 12:03 am

December 15, 2009 - 1:16 pm

December 19, 2009 - 12:09 pm

Kristin Wight - I absolutely love the photo of Kennedy and chloe! How precious!

A few more from today.

A few things I want to remember.

Canyon & Kennedy both said, “mommy? If Chloe is out, why is your belly still big?”  🙂  Kennedy thinks there might be another baby in there.

Canyon is the most excited about baby Chloe- he would hold her all day long if I would let him. It’s very sweet.

So far she is a GOOD baby. Eats every 3 hours (she lasted 4or5 last night), sleeps the rest of the time. Cries a little, but only for a minute and then immediately falls asleep. Likes the pacifier 🙂  Keagan is our only one who wouldn’t take a pacifier- he still sucks his thumb. I like it.

December 13, 2009 - 7:38 pm

Dena - 4 or 5 hours… I take back what I said about praying for you… I may have to pray for my heart and the jealousy I am feeling towards you… ENJOY

December 13, 2009 - 11:31 pm

Stef - That is so funny about your tummy – I am so dreading that part and guessing it’s going to be pretty bad.

December 14, 2009 - 1:50 pm

Sara - Well, if it makes you feel any better, Stella told me YESTERDAY (as I was sitting hunched over at the table) “Mom it looks like there might be a baby in your stomach.” I told her she’s getting a spank for that. 🙂 Chloe is BEAUTIFUL!

January 5, 2010 - 10:14 pm

Autumn - Hahaha I’m glad I’m not the only one to get asked the belly question!
