enjoying the process » loving the journey, not just the destination

Sorry for the lull..

Some things have happened since I last blogged. I’ve been a little busy, a little sleepy and well, the computer just hasn’t been on my priority list- sad, I know.  But here’s just a little update. We’ve had some company, had some sleepless nights (and days), had some stomach flu (currently), had some fun at a play, had even more fun at a basketball game… just to mention a few.  Chloe has had many baths since I last blogged..she LOVES taking a bath!

We got some AMAZING meals after Chloe was born. I feel SO loved. It seems like all of my friends know exactly what I like 🙂  Kelli, of course, never disappoints. She packaged her meal up so nicely, as always.

Then, Becky brought us Chili & cornbread (one of my very favorites!) along with her DELICIOUS cupcakes. I think I need that recipe, Becky!  My boys said, “can she bring these over every night?”

One Friday I had a particularly wonderful day. James surprised me with a Starbucks (still in the Christmas cups), my friend Brenda stopped by with a Sprinkles cupcake and 2 very cute outfits for Chloe, my friend Marybeth stopped by with a YUMMY dinner for us & another cute outfit for Chloe, and my friend Mary came over and took my kids so I could get some things done.  I can’t say it enough- I truly have the BEST friends in the world.

James took us to the Greystone Mansion for a picnic lunch one day…The boys were asked to play a little game at the UCLA v. Cal game last Saturday.  They had to dress up in a very LARGE UCLA uniform (including size 19 shoes) and run across the court & make a basket- all during half time of the game.  James was more excited than they were 🙂  I was a little nervous that they wouldn’t do it once they saw the size of the court and how many people were watching, but they didn’t even hesitate.  James took my camera down on the court & snapped a few photos while I *tried* to video with Chloe in the sling, Keagan throwing a little temper tantrum in the seat beside me & Kennedy tugging my arm trying to see the video as I was taping 🙂  Needless to say, the video was a little shaky. But here are a few of the photos James got.

Okay, that’s all I have to share for now. There’s a LOT I’m forgetting to mention, but maybe I’ll remember for the next post:)

My Blog in Book Form.

It arrived today!! YIPPEE!!!! The nice Fed-Ex man delivered it to our door around 10am this morning. Now that’s pretty impressive! I just ordered it Wednesday. That’s a 3 day turn-around time.  Some of you have been asking about this for a while. It’s been in the works for a while, I have to admit. First, there were some issues with Typepad and Blurb- they were compatible for a while, then something changed, then they were friends again. Kinda like girls in Jr. High.  I had to work out a few kinks – in the “slurping” process some of the characters got jumbled, but overall it was a fairly painless process. Some of my photos were too small so I had to find them on my computer and re-load them, but again, fairly painless.  Now I can FINALLY cancel my typepad blog and save $9.00 a month! Woo-Hoo.  Here’s a little peek at the book. It’s really pretty. The print quality isn’t fantastic, but I’m pretty picky. It’s WAY better than Shutterfly or Snapfish, but not high quality like pro-sites.  It’s perfect for what I needed.

The company is here:  www.blurb.com
